About Malleswaram
Malleswaram is one of the oldest localities and a well-planned area situated in the north western part of Bangalore. Its name is derived from the famous Kaadu Malleswara temple. The area was founded by H. V. Nanjundaiah, the first Vice Chancellor of the Mysore University and acting Dewan of Mysore. Being one of the traditionally rich areas, it has now adopted a cosmopolitan nature with multi-storey apartments replacing several large bungalows. It has mixed demographics, comprising substantial upper-income and middle-middle income families. Some of the key residential projects in and around Malleshwaram are Brigade Gateway, Salarpuria Sattva Luxuria, Sampige Apartments, Renaissance Park, and Tripura Nest.
The locality is well connected to several major areas by the BMTC city buses. The place has good public transport with easily available volvo buses and auto rickshaws. It is also served by the Green Line metro stations of Mantri Square Sampige Road and Mahakavi Kuvempu Road. The interconnecting roads which link it to the rest of the city are Sampige Road and Margosa Road. Malleshwaram is at a distance of 5 km from Bangalore City Railway Station and 33 km from Kempegowda International Airport.
