About Bandra

Bandra is a coastal suburb of Mumbai on the island of Salseta, in the state of Maharashtra. It is one of the largest business districts in Mumbai, mainly due to the creation of the Bandra-Kurla Complex business district. Bandra is divided into east and west by a local railway line that passes through it. Bandra West is also known for its restaurants, street shopping, churches and other attractions listed below. Bandra East is mainly known for commercial complexes like Bandra Kurla and government institutions like Bandra Court, Mhada and Family Court. Many of the famous residents of Bandra are celebrities or VIPs who are active in Bollywood films, media, cricket, politics and more.

Around the 20th century, the western part of Bandra became a fashionable suburb. Bandra is one of the largest Catholic communities in Mumbai. There are many famous Catholic hospitals and churches. The most famous is the Cathedral of Mount Mary, which hosts an annual festival called "Bandra Fair" every year around September.

Amenities like universities, academies, hospitals, clinics, temples, mosques, supermarkets, outdoor activities, fitness centers, Malls, restaurants, local parks, etc. are close to the locality. The locality has a large collection of street art or graffiti.

Important trains include Bandra-New Delhi Rajdhani Express, Bandra-Indore Express, Bandra-Patna Express, Bandra-Jaipur Express, Bandra-Jodhpur Express and Bandra-Amritsar Express. Public transport also includes BEST buses, auto rickshaws and taxis, which are plentiful. The Bandra-Worli Sea Link Bridge connects Bandra West to Worli in central Mumbai. Due to Bandra's central location, most parts of the city are within easy reach.
