Dombivli West, primarily an affordable place for the middle-income group is strategically located in the Thane district with the Ulhas River in the north, Dombivli East in the south, Nevada in the east and Bharodi Gaon in the west. Some of the important areas of this society are Mothagaon, Shivaji Nagar, Vishnu Nagar, and Vijay Society. Several notable projects in the area include Swaminarayan City by Swaminarayan Lifespace LLP, Amar Galaxy and Anandi Heights by Amar Group.

It is part of the smart city project and is a planned location. It is well linked to the rest of the metropolis through Dombivli Railway Station on the Central Line. Mumbai International Airport is about 40 km from the locality.
