About Ernakulam

Ernakulam is one of the most developed districts of Kerala with an area of 3068 square kilometers in the heart of the state. It is the commercial capital of the state and has the highest income among all the districts in Kerala. It is headquartered in Kakkanad, which has the largest metropolitan area with Cochin within its geographical boundaries. The two main rivers in the area are Periyar and Muwatupuza. The region can be divided into clearly defined lowland, central and highland zones. The fertile texture of the soil ensures agricultural production and lush greenery everywhere.
