About Guduvancheri
Guduvancheri is located on National Highway 45 (also known as GST Highway), southwest of Chennai, and is a growing area of the city. This area is a green place surrounded by lakes. Vandalur, Urapakkam, Adhanur and Potheri are some other new and emerging areas near the locality. Availability of cheap land, good connectivity with GST roads and easy access to SIPCOT and other SEZs along with integrated development has led to the development of Guduvancheri. Lancor Holdings, Shriram Properties and South India Shelter are some of the prominent developer’s active in this area.
GST Road connects this area with other prominent districts of Chennai like Tambram and Porur. Chennai International Airport is 20 km away and can be reached via GST Road and Chennai Trichy Expressway. Kelambakkam - Vandalur Road is 5 km from Guduvancheri and connects to Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR). Guduvancheri railway station on the Chennai suburban rail network runs parallel to the Chennai-Trichi Expressway and provides connections to the airport and other important locations such as Guindy and T Nagar.
Despite being on the outskirts of Chennai, Guduvancheri's social infrastructure has developed with several notable schools and colleges such as Guduvancheri Boys' High School, St. Mary's Preparatory School and SRM College of Hospitality Management. There are hospitals in the area including Christuda Hospital and K. R. Hospital. Gold Souk Grande shopping mall is 20 minutes from the local area and GST Road also has retail stores.
Major employment hubs along GST Road, including IT Parks/Special Economic Zones (SEZs) such as Mahindra World City SEZ and Gateway Office Parks, are less than half an hour away. SIPCOT Industrial Park is another important source of employment in the region.
