About Khopoli
Khopoli is an industrial town in Khalapur taluka, Raigad district, Maharashtra, India, in the foothills of the Sahyadri Hills. The Patalganga River is the terminus of the Tata Hydroelectric Project and flows through Khopoli. It is a municipality and part of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and covers an area of 30 km2. The city is called the city of waterfalls due to several waterfalls in the rainy season. Due to the presence of industries, the city has attracted migrants from all over India.
It is served by a railway station that is connected to the Mumbai Suburban Railway by a line from Karjat. The distance between CSMT and Khopoli is 114.24 kilometers (70.99 mi) on the Central Railway Suburban Line, a broad gauge line carrying electric locomotives. It is located on NH 4, about 80 kilometers (50 mi) south of Mumbai and 80 kilometers (50 mi) from Pune.
Jagdish Chandra Mahindra Memorial School, Janata Vidyalaya Junior College and Gagangiri English International School are some of the educational institutions nearby the locality. The area has good connectivity to railway stations, schools, hospitals, temples, parks, markets, malls, banks and ATMs, restaurants, transportation, etc. The main tourist attractions of the city are India's largest amusement park, Adlabs Imagica. Mahad Ganpati Temple, Zenith Falls and Gangangiri Maharaj Ashram Lonavala are just 8 km from the city.
