Korattur is located in the north-western part of Chennai and is a residential and industrial area. Korattur is often referred to as a part of Anna Nagar. The area is famous for Korattur Lake, but due to industrial development, it is highly polluted. Places near the region are Ambattur, Mangalapuram, Kolathur and Lakshipuram. It is home to many manufacturing industries. The area has both vertical and horizontal housing development.
