About Marine Lines
Marine Lines is a residential area in South Mumbai overlooking the Arabian Sea, located on the Western Line of the Mumbai Suburban Railway. It is an expensive place in India and consists of multi-story apartments, individual bungalows and some major commercial establishments. It is a developed area nurtured by a boulevard, proximity to employment centers and social services and excellent connectivity with other parts of Mumbai. It borders other major locations in South Mumbai like Girgaon, Churchgate and Fort.
It has excellent access to all major areas of Mumbai via the Commuter Railway, Eastern Express Highway and Eastern Freeway. Marine Lines, Churchgate and Charni Road are the nearest stations on the western line; while CSMT is the nearest station on the main and port lines. The western line, with the Bandra Worli Sea Link 10 km away, provides a direct connection to the western suburbs. The Central line, together with the Eastern Express Highway 4 km away, connects the eastern suburbs of Thane and Navi Mumbai. Also, the Port Line and the Eastern Freeway provide easy access to Navi Mumbai. Mumbai International Airport lies within a radius of 21 km around the area.
The locality has some famous schools, colleges and hospitals, malls, hotels, restrurant and many more. Major leisure facilities such as Marine Drive, Wankhede Stadium, Garware Club House and Bombay Gymkhana are close to the area.
Marine Lines is close to some of the best known employment hubs such as the Bombay Stock Exchange, World Trade Center, Maker Chambers and the new administration building at Nariman Point.
