About Okhla

Okhla is an industrial center mainly known as Okhla Industrial Area. It strategically located in South New Delhi, close to the borders of Faridabad (Haryana) and Noida (Uttar Pradesh). It is divided into three parts known as Okla Industrial Estate, Okla Residential Area and Okla Village. It is the oldest village in New Delhi. Residential developments are mainly in the form of flats, detached houses and New Delhi Development Authority (DDA) flats. Some of the famous districts like Sarita Vihar, East of Kailash, Nehru Place, Kalkaji and Govindpuri form Okhla District.

It is connected to other parts of New Delhi through the Outer Ring Road. Okhla Vihar Metro Station (Magenta Line) is nearby. The nearest railway station to the place is Hazrat Nizamuddin Station which is 6.3 km away. Okhla is 19.9 kilometers from Indira Gandhi International Airport.

A few of the nearby shopping malls are Aatif Mall, Sultanate Plaza and Living Style Mall. One of the famous universities of New Delhi Jamia Millia Islamia is situated in Okhla. Jamia Senior Secondary School, Syed Abid Hussain Senior Secondary School, Gods Grace School and Little Flowers School are some of the famous schools in the locality. Holy Family Hospital, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and Bansal Hospital are some of the prominent hospitals in the area.

One of the major industrial areas of New Delhi, the Oklah Industrial Area, is located here. Nehru Place (5 km), Bhikaji-Kama Place (14 km) and Connaught Place (CP) (14 km) are other nearby shopping areas. Noida office center is very well connected to Magenta Line (Janakpuri West - Botanical Garden). Saket district center is about 10 km via Okla Outer Ring Road.
