About South Delhi

South Delhi is an administrative division of the Capital Region of Delhi, India and is headquartered in Saket. The administrative division is divided into three districts: Saket, Hauz Khas and Mehrauli. It is bordered by the Yamuna River to the east, the New Delhi district to the north, the Faridabad district of Haryana state to the southeast, the Gurgaon district of Haryana state to the southwest and South west Delhi to the west.

Hauz Khas Complex, Jahaz Mahal, Zafar Mahal, Bijay Mandal, Qutub Minar, Mehrauli Archaeological Park and the Safdarjung's Tomb comprise some of South Delhi's most scenic heritage sites. Delhi has many famous markets like Sarojini Nagar Market, Green Park Market and malls like DLF, MGF Metropolitan, Select Citywalk, Malviya Nagar etc Located in South Delhi. The South Delhi neighborhood of Hauz Khas has seen an upsurge of trendy shops and residences. It becomes a gathering place for local and foreign tourists and backpackers. The area has many historical monuments and easy access to the Delhi Metro station, which makes it a popular destination for many Indian tourists as well as local middle-class tourists from other Indian states. The area attracts young tourists with many modern hotels and cafes.

Two lines of the Delhi Metro, the Yellow Line and the Red Line run through the area. The close railway station is Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. The closest airport is the Indira Gandhi International Airport, located in the west of the district. Many major city roads such as Inner Ring Road and Outer Ring Road pass through the area including Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road, Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, Aurobindo Marg, August Kranti Marg and Press Enclave Road.
