About Devanahalli
Devanahalli has gone from an unknown town to a major IT hub. The hometown of legendary leader Tipu Sultan, it used to be a historic town along Nandi Hills in the rural district of Bangalore, until the IT boom in Bangalore. Today, it stands at the brink of evolving into an Information Technology hub, with a plan of generating more than 300000 jobs in the time to come.
It is 35 kilometres to the north east of Bangalore City. It is located on National Highway 7 which is also known as Bellary Road or Bangalore Hyderabad Highway. The stretch on National Highway 7 from Hebbal to Devanahalli is being expanded to 6 lanes and 7 new flyovers are being constructed to reduce the travel time to the airport, which is one hour as of now to less than 20 minutes. Apart from this, the Bangalore Metro is also projected to connect to the adjoining Airport in its second phase. It enjoys excellent connectivity to Bangalore as well as nearby areas like Marayanakanahalli, Hebbal and K.R.Puram.
